If your dream is to travel to Australia to improve your English or study at university, immersed in an environment filled with natural beauty and beaches, we recommend the city of Newcastle

Despite being the 6th largest city in Australia  (500,000 inhabitants), the 2nd largest in New South Wales and only 160 kms to the north of Sydney, Newcastle is a relatively unknown Australian city.

The port of Newcastle is a key source of income for the the local economy, as it receives not only recreational and commercial vessels, but also  freight ships of great size and is the world’s largest exporter of coal.

Newcastle’s climate is subtropical,  its beaches are amazingly beautiful and it boasts an excellent quality of life.

Sporting and beach activities are mainly surfing, bodyboarding & kitesurfing and can be practiced practically anywhere in Newcastle. It’s also common to see people hang-gliding but there are also lots of other recreational activities,  as well as an interesting art culture and emerging gastronomical culture to be discovered.

The most known beaches are: “Nobbys’ Beach”, “Bar Beach”, “Newcastle Beach” & “Merewether Beach”.
